About the Role
Ontra is looking for a Manager to help propel the future of legal tech AI by developing a world class data analytics team. This role will report directly into our Director of Data.
The Manager, Data Analytics role is ideal for someone motivated by driving impact, who enjoys building strong relationships, is hungry to deliver results, rolling up their own sleeves if necessary, and who enjoys product leadership, specifically, identifying opportunities where the team can be the driver of solutions even when not asked.
What You’ll Do
- Grow Data Culture: You translate business problems into metrics, and help your team compose insights based on movements of these metrics. Beyond creating metrics, you are apt at translating movements in metrics to exciting data explorations that might inform or change the direction of the product.
- Drive Results: Once presented, you excel at helping your team get these insights implemented, after all, it's how powerful is an insight if it isn’t actioned upon?!
- Breaking down projects: You love taking big hairy problems and breaking them down into components to ensure your team is always answering the most pressing business question first.
- Resilience: You will hear “no” a lot, but when you do, this motivates you to find new solutions or quickly re-prioritize so that you are always focussing on what projects drive the most impact.
- Coach: You will grow a team where everyone believes feedback is a gift, cares about delivering excellent work, and cares about one another as well.
- Accountability: The data team is driven by impact and that means you will do whatever is needed to deliver that impact, regardless of whether this might cross the definitions of your job description.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience: 6+ years in analytics and 2+ years in management roles.
- Event Logging: Proven ability to drive and create data logging (ideally experience with Segment), differentiating between back-end and front-end events.
- Metrics Creation: Experience in creating metrics, with hands-on knowledge of tools like Amplitude or Mixpanel.
- Data Analysis: Strong proficiency in SQL and statistical methods, including experimentation, correlation analysis, and handling outliers.
- Programming Knowledge: Basic understanding of Python.
