Senior Delivery Lead at Detroit Labs

Our Delivery Leads serve as a critical and influential leader on our custom software development teams who facilitates agile practices, manages and tracks projects, builds relationships with clients, and assists with gathering requirements to drive projects to successful delivery. This position reports to the Delivery Lead Manager.
As a Delivery Lead, you will serve as a primary contact for our clients throughout a project, working closely with our clients, vendors, and technical teams to ensure the product vision and technical execution are in harmony. You will lead our teams in establishing and refining efficient and effective agile processes, facilitating collaborative team and client meetings with a focus on maintaining a healthy team environment. You will work with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive project plans and guide teams in taking decisive action to align with the project plan, all while working with the team and client to assess and mitigate risk. You will maintain client and internal team expectations, provide partners with relevant project information, and use qualitative and quantitative data to drive impactful conversations and motivate change.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of project management experience with a track record of leading software development teams to successful outcomes
  • Familiarity and practice with different project management methodologies (scrum, kanban, waterfall, etc.) with experience leading teams in an agile environment being highly desirable
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of promoting clarity and transparency with clients, delivery teams, and internal stakeholders
  • Experience with project management tools, such as Jira and ADO
  • Strong facilitation skills with experience leading conversations with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders in leadership positions
  • Experience working with technical team members to align product vision with technical implementation
  • Experience building and maintaining client relationships based on common goals, collaboration, and empathy
  • Experience giving clear, empathetic feedback to both teams and individual team members, fostering a healthy team environment that involves everyone collaborating toward a shared outcome
  • Experience gathering requirements, breaking down work into user stories, acceptance criteria, and related tasks preferred
  • Willingness to learn and grow in understanding of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the day-to-day point of contact for our clients, and works with our account executive team to establish a positive and collaborative partnership that focuses on trust
  • Serves as a critical and influential leader on cross-functional software development teams, fulfilling the role of scrum master, leading the team in identifying and resolving impediments, and guiding the team towards decisive action
  • Drives successful outcomes of both short and long-term software development projects, navigating teams through ambiguity and overcoming challenges in the software development lifecycle
  • Develops comprehensive project plans with clear estimates and milestones, regularly socializing the plan with the client and our team to ensure alignment
  • Utilizes data, metrics, and reporting tools to track and influence progress towards our delivery goals and to communicate project status and health to the client, team, and internal stakeholders
  • Facilitates team and client meetings, ensuring discussions are productive and achieve the desired goal, supporting team efficiency and collaboration
  • Actively identifies, tracks, and communicates project risks, leading risk response and mitigation efforts to influence positive outcomes
  • Works to understand and align our design and development deliverables and processes with our clients’ goals while balancing team and client needs
  • Fulfills an agile coach role on teams, fostering a mindset of continuous improvement and utilizing process and structure to promote collaboration and efficiency within the team
  • Manage the product backlog, supporting the team in understanding and breaking down requirements into clear user stories and tasks and ensuring work is properly prioritized
